What kind of fish bite in October??
Hey gents, I have a insane work schedule that prevents me from fishing a lot, unfortunately. For instance I've worked July August and going to finish up September and a little in October. So I'm getting a few weeks off in October and I just wanna make sure I'm not missing out on good fishing for this year. I'm new to fishing Socal, I hear you can fish all year round but I'm not sure if I'm believing that or not.. Anyone look forward to the Fall/ winter months of fishing? Thanks in advance!

I've only been yakkin' for about 1.5 years but cattle boat fishing for much longer.
There is always something to catch, but some fish are easier to get in certain seasons. probably the biggest issue in the winter months is the water conditions. You need to watch the weather, tide, wind and sea state conditions to avoid going out when you might get a visit to Davy Jones' Locker. Always keep a healthy respect for ocean and you can catch most fish year 'round. |

Its a little slower, and colder, but there are fish around year round. If the squid come around this year, it can be just as good as a summer month. Instead of the flyline it will be dropper loops and carolinas.

All fish bite in October, they'd starve if they didn't...
