Vail Lake is closed

Yep Vail is closed to day use shore and kayak fishing!!!!!!!!!

I loaded up the kayak today and went to Vail for some lmb action. Went to pay the man like I did last week and he said it's members only now. Well that sucks! at least it was only a 10 minute drive for me. I'm posting this to save someone the trouble of getting turned away, since I am the one who posted that it was open to the public.

I hope some of you got out there while you could.

Here is my last fish I caught last week.
P.S. I'm now taking donations. hahahahaha

WELL, THAT SUCKS BIG TIME, Looked forward to some spring action at Vail.

Loosing money there, 25 bucks a pop, hard to say I am gonna spend 750 to fish a lake a year.

HMMM

Too bad. Thanks for turning us on to the $25 deal. We fished the lake a couple of times this summer and found it better than Barrett was in May.

The membership fee is completely negotiable. You can sweet talk your way down to about a grand or even lower. My understanding from the dude in the gate trailer was tht they were in serious financial problems and that significant changes (possible sale) were possible. This was early summer this year.

This article from Jan. 2013 may shed some light on the issues at Vail Lake.

For a full membership with a boat, a kayak membership is 750 for a single or 1000 for two people...
