Lobster Regulation Question...

Just wondering how many bait cages can I use in one trap? We're nearing the end of the season and I'm going for it but want to stay legit...thanks in advance! Jim

Zero. Unless you are a commercial fisherman with proper permits, it is illegal to use a trap. Hoop nets or if diving, hands only.

Where did you see this thing at? We found one once free diving. It was no where as big as that one though.

That's pretty slick...simular to the cages I use.
Main Beach Laguna has been giving up some big ones recently.

What do you mean bait cages? Real men don't need bait.

Here's a picture taken Sunday of me and a couple friends catching lobster in Mission Bay. The rain and wind made it a little choppy but we still ended up with 935 bugs between us (4 of them were even what you might call legal) which isn't bad considering we were only out for 7 hours.
