artificial baits for the kayak
I'm a long time ocean fisherman but a relative new guy with the kayak. I'm used to live bait, tady 45's and plastics but I'm hearing about megabaits and other lures used off kayaks with success. Can anyone give me a little advice as to what is effective, specifically sizes (of megabaits or lures), colors and brands. Thanks.

Mike use what you know and you are confident in. You already have the best lures in your arsenal. Megabaits work well for yo-yoing in the winter time, some guys use them as surface irons, but IMHO nothing beats a 45 in that type of fishing. When winter comes closer go out and buy yourself a couple 3.5oz Megabaits and try them out, they are much less tiring to yo-yo with than the standard 6x. If you know how to fish from a boat, then you will have no problems, just use what you know...after all kayaks are just small plastic boats .
