Rocka Rolla (JAN FINAL)

New Year's Day halibut weighed 18 pounds 10 oz, caught on a greenback

Upgraded my 18 pound YT with this 29.5 pounder caught on a Salas 6XJR

Now where's my WSB

Here it is! 34 pounds 7 oz and on an iron.

Nice Andy...do you have a pic of the "trap hook" setup you use for halibut? i have an idea, but not exactly sure where you stick the treble?

I use this kind... Palomar knot to the 2/0 circle live bait, and palomar knot to the treble about 3-5 inches back with the excess line...

I do it similar, only I use a #2 octopus and I snell that, leaving a tag to tie on the treble. I usually use a 4 oz torpedo sliding above the swivel.
