Short trip, shorter report
Hit Dana This morning for a very short morning. Launched about 7:30 to a light cross-shore wind and pretty cold. I was hoping for yesterdays wind, but this was not to be. Got out to the Pipe, had about 20min with the wind stiff, but not too bad. Then all of a sudden it shifted out the south west and just howled. A 1oz head on a 4" Flurry was enough to find the bottom very rarely. Big wind chop and white caps within 15min of the wind turning. Today was definitely not for the faint of stomach. By 9:15 I was over it, 3 bites for the day. High light for the day was meeting Yakmedic and his buddies. We paddled to the harbor entrance together. Always good to put a face to a name. Hope you guys did better then me.

Good meeting you out there today Amish. The conditions weren't good by any measure. Pulled up 4 short halibut, 2 unknown grey sharks and one pissed off pelican. Still a good day no less.

Did you go north or hide from the wind by the Doheny? It seemed like the wind might have backed down a bit around 9:30 or 10:00. I still can't believe how quick and strong that wind came up.

It was nice seeing you out there, yeah it was a bit sketchy for a while I probably had 4 gallons of water in my hull when i landed but all in all it was a good day 2 shorts about 6 raked it was my cousins first time on a yak and he did well considering the conditions, it was my first time at dp and i will def be back cant beat free parking, easy launch, and a bait barge like stinkymatt said it is gentlemens fishing and it was a nice change from getting owned on the shore break at esco. hope to see you out there again. tight lines.

We drifted doheny aways passed the creek. When the swell picked up it became a not very fun game of don't fall off the Tarpon.

Yeah, I thought about you swimming a few times out there. Glad you stayed on it. Good test for your acclimating to the 160i too. I took lots of green water over the bow today.
