Tough day at La Jolla

Launched a 0630 to flat conditions. Making bait was tough all day. Only managed 3 Spanish macs. Trolled the macs till 1630 and gave up. No La Jolla love for me today.
Mike, thanks for the greenbacks, unfortunately I couldn't make anything happen with them.
Had great weather all day with flat conditions, water temp 68 degrees.
Getting around all of the lobster trap was a challenge. Not much life out there, even the seals left me alone

Thanks for the report, did you work the bottom at all or just fly line?

I went out yesterday and it was the same. Bait was hard to make. It was a very nice day out on the water, like being on a lake. But the fishing wasn't great. There wasn't much life out there.

Sven, glad to meet you and you are welcome for the greenies. I spent nine hours on the water that day with nothing to show for it. Mike

Maybe out in a boat at the 9 mile bank or further. On the VHF you can hear all the talk. Show us your pictures.

No doubt, your definition of wide open is clearly different than mine...
