Oh, those crazy South Africans and their fishing skis. What will they attempt next?

This video shows the conditions at this year's Salt Rock Fishing Ski Comp. The fun really begins at about 2 minutes in.

Check out the video that they used for the Salt Rock Fishing Ski Comp registration instructions. The real gnarly part kicks in at about 1:15.

I guess nobody could say that the tournament organizers withheld info about expected conditions.

If they close LJ I'll definently be in the market for one of those, and an apartment in OB/pt.loma.

I counted 9 fish in that yellow and white kayak. that is definitely excessive. Whats the limit over there? hope he eats all that! No wonder there aint no fish in La Jolla!

Definitely open water boats; designed for rough water. Lots of below deck storage; capsizing and getting back on would be a regular trick. Looks influenced by blue water racing sailboats.
In that part of the world; you probably would not want any dead fish or fisherman body parts dangling over the side.
Those are some pretty meaty offshore waves the one dude is punching through.
