Launching at IB?

Just wondering if anyone has tried to launch from IB to try and get the kelp?
Is it even worth it or just stay with LJ.

Over the years I've launched both kayaks and small skiffs at IB. Pick a flat day and its doable like most beaches. That said, learned to surf at IB and it can be a rough nasty place. Conditions can change rapidly. Paddle out thru mello waves and return to thru low tide out side sand bars breaks of crushing shore break. Fishing can be good there. That sandy areas off where the circular array used to be are some of the best hali areas in so cal. Mike
