Ja Jolla 6-17

Finished teaching last week so I decided to fork out the $70 in gas to get to Lj. Its been so long since I've been out that I forgot what time the sun gets up. I was a little disappointed to see gray light as I was passing through o-side.

Adi saved my a$$ when I got there as I realized that my fully loaded tackle tray was sitting right where I left it...at home. Thanks Adi

Long story short, I got two really good zings in 140 feet of H2o on flylined macks. They were pornstar size macs, my hooks were 2/0 and I don't think big enough to stick into what was biting them.

On an oddity note, I jigged up about 8 squid in 110' of H2o in the early morning. I sent 'em back down hoping for a delicious wsb, but only ended up getting an assortment of misc junk fish. I will go on record as saying that although I did not catch any fish, this will be the beginning of another EPIC bite that I will inevitably miss.

Heres some pics of the day if you are bored.
Sand Dab

Rock fish that ate my last candy

Snake

Rare Giant Rock Fish

Lizard fish that I needed a pic of for my California Fishing Passport. Notice the bonus parasite in the gills.

Ended the day with a bang

On another side note, Going with the trend, I also am starting my own kayak fishing guide business. I think I will be a theif and call myself "The Stoic Waterman" First lesson- Surf launching.

Sorry you weren't able to catch the exotics. At least you were in the zone . Liked watching the video and your style of paddling.

Good seeing you Steveooo.

I got to watch our new kayak fishing guide going out... Your boat handled nicely those 2 big ones. The surf wasn't too big yesterday, but it had some bite to it, didn't it.

Bait all over.

No fish tho.

I was reading 65-68 temps.
