Can't get enough of them bugs...

...but we will be happy with the 3 we got last night.

Launching before sunset we hit San Diego Bay again with our 3 nets a piece, trying a new spot this go around, since the Z-point was slow for us the last two trips.

Met Bob and Steve (Bugman and Buttman). Very nice to meet and talk with both of you, and thanks for the info you passed our way.

An early pull yielded our biggest bug of the season a 3 lb male. After that, the next 3 hours gave us one or two shorts on every other pull. About 9:30PM it turned real dark and the drizzle and wind started coming. Just about 10:00 we were about to quit when Aaron pulled our 2nd legal of the night, and Julie had one that was close. It seemed a decent crawl had begun, so we decided to stick it out a little longer. After a few more close ones, the chill started setting in us from what was now more like rain. So we decided to quit. When Aaron pulls the last net, our 3rd legal of the night was waiting for us. Here's our bugs, the 2 small ones were easy legals (by almost a half inch):

If the weather had been nicer we were sure sticking it out could have provided us a couple more keepers.

On the way back to the launch the wind and rain stopped, so we dropped once near Shelter Island. We only brought up sting-rays there, so we called it at midnight.

One of these nights we'll know what it's like to get limits, probably after we get an additional 4 nets. In the meantime, we'll enjoy our successes while learning the ropes.

Thanks for the reply, Adi. They had good things to say about you, too.
