Night Fishing NPH?
Has anyone ever went fishing new port harbor at night? Maby the backbay area. If anyone has any info on this it would be greatly apreciated. Seems I don't have time the next few weeks to go fishing in the AM so I figured I might try this out. Also what species of fish can you catch at night?

Before I got my kayak (two weeks ago) Newport was my stomping ground for years in my float tube. I fish the bay with plastic and drag a halibut rig with squid strips to hook up with bat rays and flatties. Hell, let me know when you're going and I'll see if I can meet up with you.

Fishing NPH at night can really produce some fish. Just need good tidal movement, no red tide, and to be in the right place and the right time. Definitely worth a try. I went last week and had 12 bass for 2.5hrs. Fished the moored boats on the peninsula and the main channel at the end of the peninsula. Try dark colors, unless there's a red tide. If there is, then go as light as possible.
