Any Halibut in Newport area
I know there are some in Newport Harbor but none thus far that are legal that I've caught. Are any of you having any luck outside the harbor/jetty like CDM? All I've been managing to take home are Bass and wifey is teasing me for not taking home her favorite fish. I question the safety of the fish caught well inside the harbor. I am aware some of the members don't like reporting where there hot zone is, but if you don't mind, PM me and I assure you IM not the type to broadcast locations. At the very least let me know if you guys are regularly catching them please. thanks!

bait barge has been loading me up with 5-7" Sardines and fishing them with Carolina and drop rigs. End up catching more Calico. I need to start making bait I suppose.

Might still be a few out around the boats moored in front of the CG station.
