La jolla on the water report 6.09.18
Launched at 5 am hoping for my first yak yellow. Bait was hard to come by. Made one mack and friend gave me one sardine after my one and only sabiki broke.......should have changed it out from last year but was lazy.
Yellows not co-operating. Hardly saw anyone hook up to anything good. Trolled to 200 ft of water but even rockfish didnt abide, and the ones that did were tiny. Went over to the kelp to slam bass. Calicos very active. Caught maybe 10 calis, all around 13-15" except this one toad, about 25 ". My personal best calico

Nice fish!
So nice to know there are still some big ones left alone. |
