Rod and reel recommendations
I have a bunch of Rod and reel setups here at the house but not sure if they would work as well for a Yak. That being said what types of reels and rods should or do you recommend that I use?
Thanks |

I started with the Dawia Sealine X reels and Ugly Stik rods and still use it. I landed my first thresher shark with this set up. I feel it's a great set up for La Jolla.

2 - 6'6" mh rods rated at 20 - 40 line class 3 - 7' H rods rated at 30 to 50 line class 2 - Jigmasters 1 - conventional reel rated high speed 6.0:1 1 - Conventional reel rated 5.0:1 1 - Conventional reel rated 4.0:1 I left out my bay fishing setups and my big trolling rods, what I have listed is what I currently have to choose from. I can already see where I may need some upgrades. |
