Good Day in LJ - 9/19
Launched the inflatable around 6:30 on Saturday in with an old buddy, hoping to put him on his first LJ yellowtail. Bait was a bit of a challenge; they were boiling everywhere, but didn't seem interested in biting. Ended up with 2 greenies and about 8 Spanish.
Tons of boats were on the south side, past Bishops, so I decided to stay north. Started trolling a greenie off the first condo in ~90 feet and was hooked up within 15 minutes. My buddy reeled in a nice 20 pounder (no pic). Threw on the second greenie and got hammered again within 20 minutes. This guy went 18 lbs. Both of their stomachs were stuff with red crabs. Saw several other yakers hooked up in the same area. Tied on the Spanish and trolled them south for nada. Called it quits around noon after the dogs eat the rest of my baits. I also saw the SUP fishing guy. Now that is mans-game. |
