Depression- The bite has been SHUTDOWN 2- Reports

Well it has been some time, since my last report...
so I will include two reports on this one

1st Report

Night Adventure into the Seas Part 1

Word, P.M.S, phone calls where made

MATT, TIM, JORGE, FRANK YOU MUST GET OUT TO LA JOLLA ITS WIDE OPEN

Planning:

We must go tonight, we are leaving Norwalk, Ca at 12 am and launching at 2 am

Kayaking at night
, never have done that before. Matt calls me and tells me to bring 3 to 4 glow in the dark glowsticks because we will need them for the kind of fishing that we are going to do. ( later i found out that it was not glowsticks he meant but jigs )

Problem # 1 : wife tells Frank. " Frank you can't go out this weekend because I need to attend a shower and i need you to take care of the kids"

Mission 1 - Tell wife we are going Night fishing and Ill be back on Sunday.

Sat morning: Feed kids, take kids to beach, build sand castle, destroy sand castle, rebuild sandcastle, Destroy sandcastle...Repeat 10x

Sat Lunch. go home, bath kids turn on the tv nanny

sat night. Wife comes homes and finds house super clean

say good night prayers, put kids to sleep and lay next to wife...

So wife... We are doing night fishing today because the fish are biting

wife says " what time are you leaving"

Frank says " now"

Wife " turns her back to me and says GOODnight

I said " good night baby be back in the morning"

Met Jorge at his house and loaded up and met up with the guys at the second meet up location

Problem # 2 How to load up 4 kayaks and gear onto Jorge's truck

Problem solved:

We decided to take a few pictures in case we didn't see the Hobies after this...

We arrived at La jolla at 2 am and I said to the guys We must be the most stupidest people on earth launching this early.

But as soon as we go out... THERE WAS A WHOLE FLEET!!!!!

Well, launching in the dark was a bit scary but it is really no different than launching in the afternoon except that you need more light and you can't see your left hand from your right hand.

As soon as we got out we started looking for squid, but of course we couldn't find any and we didn't have a squid light.

BOOM!!!! matt was on with his secret weapon.

after many many mins he says.. THIS IS A HUGE WHITE SEA BASS!!!!! I CAN SEE IT

I see it.... He pulls it up closer to the water, it was just a huge mega batray... He is depressed

so we meed a private boater with a squid light and Tim ask him if he can get catch some squid too.

the guys says NO he wants Tim far away from him...

By this time I pass matt a good 20 yards from him, and suddenly he gets hooked and the fish is dragging him right behind me, Matt Says do you have any lines in the water, i said yes. ( but matt panics and cuts my line so he doesn't lose his fish)

Meanwhile i get out watergun and shot his butt for cutting off Jorge lure.

well we go on in the wee hours of the morning and can't find bait till Sunrise.

By this Matt Hooks Ups and tells Jorge, Jorge my kayak is leaning to the left side can you check it out. Jorge says i can't see anything wrong with it.

Matt points to the fish, What about here? LOL

Jorge says *freaking matt* (but this is said in Jorges language)

After a bit of hours, the yellowtail show up and most of 50 boaters and 100 kayakers load up at least 20 or so yellows....

Well this night was successful more so than others...

But i was not about to be left out... I wanted some pictures too.

Well what can I say....

Successful Trip: for some yes
for me .... I remember an epic night...

This Brings on Report #2

Night Adventure into the Seas Part 2

Jorge calls me and wants to leave his at 7:30pm to La Jolla.

So he cons me into it...

ok... Another all nighter here we go....

Arrived to the glassy conditions to la jolla at 10 pm with the rest of10

BWE KFA. YES! 7 people for the BIG WATERs EDGE KAYAK FISHING ADDICTS showed up for the 10pm club meeting and so we launched.

I tell Jorge. Jorge, I don't think we are sane man..

Who is desperate enough to do this? He says we are...

So WE CANT FIND BAIT!!!!

WHERE THE HELL IS ALL THE SQUID!!!! I give up and go start making green macs and fish for nada all night. while Jorge is out in the middle of ocean fishing for i don't know what.... Ful-Rac spends some quality time passing the time with us tell us funny jokes and funny stories on his kayak adventure. Thanks Full-Rac it helped pass the time

Morning came and so did the squid, I had a hell of time making squid. It was so funny seeing them squirt ink everywhere. LOL.
If you see a blue and black kayaks THATS ME!

but now yellow hooks ups were seen nor WSB. The bite was shut down. Calicos were biting and some rockfish....

I was so depressed I went to Captain kidds and ordered some Charbroiled King salmon...It was so good

Wells thats it for my report.... Goodnight i am sleepy

For another while... I will follow yakrider advise and fish local
