Fishing Report 1/15/2011
Well after trying to book a Yosemite campsite this morning on the internet at 7am, which was nothing but a failure. It seems you have to call in to make the reservation because by the time 7am hits everything was sold out@@#$#
and 7am is the earliest you can book, i guess if you called you can book at 6am?! o well... (back to my report) So i got to Newport Beach and i left the the Coast Guard station, had to park on the street because all 9 spaces were taken by other kayakers, and launched at 9:30 am. The parking lot is open during constructions, the dock was closed for construction, bathroom and showers were open, and the beach was open. I reached CDM and fished the whole area when suddenly one of my hobie @#$@$ blades broke off and sank to the bottom!!! WTH then i start catching the mother ship of Makerel on my sibiki rig i must of caught like 15, but that was about it. Then i had to Canoe my kayak back with only one blade. It wasn't too bad since i had the rudder to steer me on course. Then half way there the bottle nose dolphins were jumping in and out of the water, and the seals were behind them. Then i stopped my Andy at OEX to get a werner CF paddle, which cost me and arm and a leg. The circle is where i launched from and the rectangle is where i broke down with my 1 bladed paddle. |
