San Clemente Island, Here I come!

Just got someone to work for me, so I am going on my first Islander trip fishing the whole day of the 27th. there are already enough people for this trip to go, but there are still a few spaces available. I know Mike Knott is going. WHO ELSE? Brad and I will also be on the June trip, fishing for our Capture the Flag tournament calicos as well as our tournament halibut, yt and wsb. If ya can't make the May trip ya gotta go in June. Com'on a rare opportunity to see Brad actually targeting bass

But be forewarned, I do not practice C&R, so there will be dead bass (hopefully) caught on bait (gasp!). Gotta stick with what you know.

The word I heard is that several of the other LJ regulars and pros from some "other" teams/sites will be on board as well for the June 9th trip. Should be a blast.

These are great trips, definitely a good time and something worth trying if you haven't done it before. I have numbers (I think) for some kick ass whitefish/sheephead spots that I'm happy to share, though anywhere in the kelp is probably just as good. Heck, I'm excite to go just for the goats. Those things are tasty.

I hope you guys kick some ass on the May trip. I'll be down with the Colonet crew sipping tequila and trying not to get crushed by the surf. 8)

The 9th is a full moon weekend. Do you think that will slow the fishing down?

Brett, the islands are known to bite VERY well around and on the full moon. These trips allow a full day of fishing , so if it a "time of day" thing you will still get em.

I must say these trips sound awesome...especially the June trip....do you think there is room for a newbie on board???....Haven't fished the open water on my yak yet...just Newport harbor which was pretty uneventful...I don't know if this helps or not but I do have a X-factor!!!

If you have any experience fishing the open ocean you should be ok fishing these trips. The reason we have OEX guys on these trips is to help you out.

Brett, Mike and I are fishing the trip leaving the 26th. Brad and I are fishing the trip leaving on the 9th.
