Floating Live Bait cage
Is there some kind small floating bait cage for live bait I can pull on the side of me.?
I do have a bait a tank with a bilge pump in all but just want something small and simple when me and the lady go out around the Harbor. I know I can make one but rather just buy one if possible. |

Yes, Plano is the best for me, you can get it at Wal-Mart for less than $ 20.00 or Big 5 also.. That's what I use.

For about $10 in materials you can make one from a short length of PVC or ABS tubing, two end caps and some line. Drill a few holes in the tube for drainage/water influx and you're there. My 12 year old son made ours from 4 inch PVC and it works great for squid. Maybe try a 1.5 inch diameter tube for fin bait.

I've been meaning to ask the same question, but instead of using in the bay, using it on the big water. I would think there would be a risk of seals coming by to steal whatever bait is floating in it.

Hey Leo,
How did your new fishfinder work out for you? My son and I were fishing with you when you first got it (Red Hobie Tandem). How long does the battery last? How was the definition and daylight viewing? |
