Bellcon Sub - June

I did my 12th, 13th and 14th trip of 2010 to La Jolla last week.
The 12th and 13th trips ended with a 100lb+ BSB and various other
"not the right kind"

The 14th was a little better...
4pm-3am, it's a looooong story, lost paddle leash, sonar malfunctions, lost gaff and then watching my paddle float away around midnight,... more than enough to make a sane man call it a day...But

It all ended well, turns out after the first fish that I don't need no stinking gaff and Tevas work well as a paddle in an emergency
.

Self portrait... no body on the water at 2am...well, a couple boats...

They went, 41lbs 2oz, 42lbs 1oz and my June submission:
54" / 51lbs 2oz, Caught on the iron, (no bait)

Thought I beat my personal best, it was longer but lighter by a couple pounds.
But I'm not complaining

Seeya this weekend

Oh and Josh, new rule, I will call when I get off the freeway

Man I love kayak fishing
(catching is fun too)

Don. Youre an animal! Let me know when you want to do some North County drifts for the flat kind. Hopefully you wont have to work so hard for those points!

Nice fishees Don.
I imagine that was quite a lot of weight to paddle in using tevas.
