4/13 Tidelands, the whole clan
Took 2 yaks and the whole family to Tidelands for the afternoon. My wife and son on the Pro 2 Tandem and me and my daughter on the Extreme. I put a boat pad in the foot well for her to sit on. Rigged her up with a dropshot Gulp on the Barbie pole. She had alot of missed bites. My son and I managed a couple short halibut, 1 sandie and about 8 spotties, most small, but a few legals, we were using Gulp 4" pearl minnows on a 3/8 leadhead. Fun afternoon with the family. The kids got the fishin bug BAD.

Great stuff Andy. Getting the kids into it early is key. I'm looking to pickup an aluminum skiff to take my kids out in. It's tough to take two on my Malibu XL.

Awesome Andy. My boy keeps coming up with all sorts of excuses.
Now, if you were only doing it for quality family time, not for 2 pointers… I’d say what a nice guy.

Great Job Andy!
I think that I speak for myself and many others on this board when I say that the reason that I got soooooo hooked on fishing is from good early memories of wetting a line with pops. I also speak for most of us when I say the reason we keep coming back is to see the blood of a 50lb toad smeared all over the yak    |

Nice one Andy!!!!!
my dad introduced me to fishing when i was 5 and that family time is what i remember the most.. i don't remember actual catches(except the big ones!), but i truely remember the preparations, the bento lunches, the waking up early, the drives in the dark, the anticipation, and the desire to make my dad proud or outfish him... when i did outfish him, somehow i knew he was quietly more stoked than i was!!! they will remember these family times forever!! and that "feeling" will never leave their hearts! Dad of the year award!!! WSB bite and he's taking the family fishing!! you've got your priorities straight....straight from the heart! |

..."The kids got the fishin bug BAD. "
That's 'cause Daddy brings home big fish. Very nice, sounds like a wonderful trip with the family.

Thanks All, I am always proud to show off my kids.
I have great memories of getting into the International Scout with my dad and 3 brothers. The jonboat strapped on top and the mighty 1.2 outboard, heading to Erie Dam in North Dakota, or packing up and heading to our lake cabin in Minnesota for the weekend. Lang, the camera is nothing special. That picture is the product of my fooling around with some new software. It is a sharpening plug in for photoshop called Neat Image. http://www.neatimage.com/ It takes out noise. It works very well with slightly blurred backgrounds. The top image is unprocessed.

kudos
kudos andy, only five more years until my wife will even consider letting our little one out on the yak with me. Probably a good thing though, seeing as how my daughter is only 3 1/2 months. We'll start with the lakeshore and the spongebob fishing pole in a couple years and progress from there.
Thanks for posting its good to see a father being such a good dad.
