Fish ID
A buddy of mine caught this down in Mexico. We went back and forth on the possibilities of ID. He say's the flesh was orange/red like a salmon so we settled on that. Any ideas?
Damn thing looks like a rainbow now that I look at it but it was caught in salt water. Thanks fellas.

My guess is a silver salmon. I caught one off LJ years ago. I also have caught the same fish in the Eel river near Eureka. They are tasty.

You sure it is not a Sierra? Those are common in Mexico and look similar to a trout. It's hard to tell with the images posted. Steelheads usually are more colorful although I have only caught them in fresh water.
