Don't do it. You'll crack your scupper holes.

Basically exactly what Brett said.
The scupper is the weakest part of your kayak due to the way they are molded. By putting a cart into the scuppers that is not an exact fit (heres where Hobie boats/carts are the exception) you are putting a lot of excess torque on the area and you ar elikely to rupture the scupper and cause yourself problems. Spend the mony on a kayak that is going to be good for your kayak and last longer. Plus a cart that cradles a boat can be used on ANY kayak which means if you get a few boats you dont need multiple carts. And you can always loan your wheels to a friend at the launch if needed. |

Looks like he may have used the design you can get here for free.
I prefer a cradle dolly. Fits more kayaks; scupper dollys only fit one style kayak.

I built my own thru scupper hole cart wheels, but after reading this, I think i'm going to spend another 4 $ and make another one so i dont damage the scuppers. Going to make something that will craddle the hull. AWESOME THREAD! THANKS. Golf cart wheels are light, cheap/free, and work like a charm on soft sand! CHEERS!
