LJ Benefit Tourney Prizes and Auction - Bid Now!

We have a nice list of prizes, raffle goodies and auction items for this Saturday's La Jolla benefit tournament. If you haven't already, sign up! Every competitor will get a raffle ticket. More will be available at the event. Funds raised will go directly to the Partnership for Sustainable Oceans and Watermans Alliance to keep our precious kayak and spear fish sites open. Sign up here: http://www.diamond-safety.com/signup-form.htm

First the special prizes:
- Catch of the Day, something good for the best sporting feat
- 75 Hobie duffle bags for the first to come through sign-in
- Bugz Baits, 20 for early Bass Division entries from Kerry Peeler
- A bonus tackle pack for the Big Bass courtesy Andy Wright
- Prize pack for trash from Corey - bring it to weigh in for collection, best effort wins
- An iPod Shuffle for something special from the Loco Pescadores crew

We have two fishing kayaks for auction. Bid now right here in this thread, or contact me via PM. Bidding will end 1 hour after the awards ceremony starts, expected to be around 1 pm but could be as late as 2pm.

A Malibu X-Factor w/ 4 rod holders from OEX Oceanside. This proven fishing machine is a minor blem, but that just means you can take it home for less. Openning bid $600 please. That's about a $200 discount. (not as pictured, no rudder)

Also for bid, a Pelican Strike Elite 130 fishing kayak - complete with rudder! This is a lower-capacity but nimble craft, a barely used demo model. Yours for as little as $400!

Need a paddle? How about a premium Warner Corryvrecken carbon fiber stick complete with leash, courtesy of David Schroeder? This is top of the line - start the bidding at $200 please.

For shore-side fun we have a Kickbike City Cruiser from Kickbike America. Open at $100

Raffle Prizes! This list subject to change.
A Kickbike City Cruiser from Kickbike America
Swimbaits from Big Hammer
Hobie Sunglasses
Hobie PFD
2 La Jolla Kayak Fishing Surf and Safety Classes
Quantum Kayak Rod from Matt Kim
Quantum Baitcaster from Matt Kim
Candy Catchers from Randy Janusch
10 Hoop Nets from Joe Nguyen
Swiss Army Knife from Greg Tsujiuchi
Sabiki Rod and Reel from Wayne Wilcoxen
Shimano Rod from Sean Sizemore
Portable Margarita Blender from Martin Harding
Shimano Curado 200 from Pat's Bait and Tackle, Vista
A 2010 1.5-day Mothership trip from Islander Sportfishing
A paddle jacket, t-shirts and waterproof light from Fastlane Sailing and Kayaking Center
25 bottles of Unibutter from Tommy Gomes
8 subscription certificates from Western Outdoor News

Big thanks and much grattitude for Halcyon Electric, Dana Pt Jetski, and Hook 1 Kayak Fishing Gear for generous cash donations. And much love for the UTC Chipotle Mexican Grill for an incredible 130 lunch burittos! Thanks!

I might be able to get Clay to donate some Bakugans...

Perfect for 6-9 year olds...it's all the rage, maybe get him to put a bag together of them...trust me, give a kid a bag of them, he will be stoked...

For the anglers in the big bass division, there will be cash glory MBF for the big fish overall...and two more ways to win. I will be manning the weighboat with Duane Mellor who is a good stick for sure - and we will track our single biggest bass each. There will be two 'bonus' prize packs for the anglers who weigh bass closest to each of our best of the day. Anyone can win, so be sure to weigh a fish even if you think it's too small (13" minimum however for 'surely legal' purposes).

Each prize will include a very limited (two) tourney t-shirt, some great lures & a gift certificate to Bay Park Fish Company... http://www.bayparkfishco.com/ ...if you don't know now you know, hands down some of the best food around!

The single biggest bass is eligible to win one of the prize packs should Duane or I stick a toad that's comparable, but one angler cannot win both prize packs.

Remember to join everyone outside the reserve line at 11am to see the calico that takes it & get in all the pictures. As I mentioned before we will monitor a VHF channel (71) for anyone that wants to weigh their bass early or just stop by for some refreshments. If any of y'all big fishers need to stop by for a cool one you're more than welcome to as well. Looking forward to Saturday!!

TL, Andy

Current auction status. Bid now!

Ocean Kayak Trident 15 rigged and ready and worth more than $1100 - $700 by Steveooo at BWE

A Malibu X-Factor w/ 4 rod holders. This is at minimum at $700 yak - $500 to Grego at Baytubers

A Pelican Strike Elite 130 w/ rudder. Are you kidding me? These things aren't common in SoCal, but they are all-around performers and would be simply outstanding as a first boat except for the big guys. It goes for about $1000 new - yours can be the first bid at $350

And one premium Warner Corryvrecken paddle - $225 by Mike S at Plastic Navy

Kickbike City Cruiser - PAL offers $100

Giorgio Armani GA 66/N/S Safilo USA Dark Brown - $150 Mangoman at BWE

Prada PR08GS-0606 Luxottica
Navy w/ Blue Lenses MSRP $300 - $150 to Patrick at Spearboard

Next auction update will be Thurs night. Please bid right in this thread so others can see your shout-out. You don't have to compete in the tournament to bid. Because this auction is taking place over several bulletin boards, earliest tied high bid will get precedence. And thanks!
