Eagle Cuda 240 s/gps

Has anyone had this problem with this unit...when the screen faces the sun it fills with vertical lines and I lose all sonar signatures....it comes back by simply shading with my hand. The tecnicians at LEI have never heard of this and want me to send in for a look see but I'd rather not.
Thanks.

Eagle Cuda 240 s/gps

I've got that unit and used it every Saturday for 1.5 years and have never had any problem at all. I would send it in.

Cuda - where did you end up getting your Eagle from? I have not been able to find that unit at west marine. I am trying to see if they can order me the Eagle Cuda 250 s/map. Any other problems with your Eagle?

how do you guys like the Eagle?

This system sounds ideal, with the GPS. The display, however, seems pretty much on the low side.

How do you guys like this system? Having both in one sounds great.

Does it show bait fish? Pretty accurate?

Can you compare it with a Matrix system?

Thanks!!!

I'm just looking for a fish finder that is reliable, shows the bottom contour, and can spot fish, I guess.

seaquinn.....

I can't really give you an experienced opinion but check out my initial post "fish finder" now on page 2 for other testimonials.
The unit does pick up bait very clearly and I like that it is small and compact (fits in my round dry hatch).
Good luck.

Eagle

If you haven't already tried it, you might want to test it with and without your polarized sunglasses, and with the sunglasses turned sideways. The LCD glass could have a polarization problem or be installed wrong.

You may want to look at the the Eagle CUDA 250 S/map. It is a new model that has all the features of the 240 plus a map. I ordered mine last weekend and will hopefully install within the next two weeks. I will post a reply soon after.

I guess the jury is still out on these units though. We shall see.
