mexico 1/24

Decided to cross the boarder on Friday and headed to my trailer near La Salina. A little sketched out by all the warnings the short drive through TJ was a little scary but it was over in no time and we were on the toll road headed for blue skies.

Didnt bring the kayak we just fished of the La Salina marina jetty. Gave my friend a pole with a gulp jerk shad on it and he caught this little cali on his first cast he was stoked think he may be hooked now.
Made it home without any problems, great trip with the friends. Cant wait to get my kayak out there though.

Glad to hear of no issues! Heading down to Central Baja in 4 weeks for a kayak and surf trip....expecting the lineups and inshore fishing to be pretty empty due to all the drug cartel stuff....hopefully safety in numbers ( 3 vehicles, 6 guys with baja travel experience).....thanks for sharing

Unfortunately caravans are what the highwaymen are targeting....why pull over one car when there are 3 grouped nicely together...3 times the loot. Just stick to the #1 rule...don't drive at night and you'll be ok. I just got back from La Bocana and there is heavy military presence at the border which has calmed things down. I drove down 15 times in '06 when the violence was peaking and I never had a problem.
Good luck and good fishing.

Might be a good idea to leave the pimped out Escalade or Sequoia at home too.

Scary Mexico

Funny when you think of how "scary" it is when you go through TJ...Most people who behave themselves don't have much to worry about...its the foolishness that gets you in trouble. fficeffice" />>>
