Merry Xmas Eve (Morning) Report

Fished 730-1200. Launch was blocked off so I set up at the end of the road which thankfully was where the water was. A bit windy early but it let up a bit around 10 and became quite flat. Found spaniards easily and went out to . Long story short, no action for me. I yo-yo'd the crap out of that place for nada and still had a wonderful morning. Lots of birds out, lots of stuff on the meter (probably just crap from the recent storm but it looked like fish marks to me!), place seemed fishy though I never saw any surface action. Ran across a big bait ball but no takers near by for the iron. Only 1 other kayak out, nice to meet you James. I also got to break in the rod I just rebuilt. My dad gave it to me when I was little. I've always wanted to build a rod, so instead of spending even more money on a new blank I thought I'd start with that one. It's a Sabre Stroker 1197. I wrapped it in charcoal and orange though you can't make out the orange too well in the pic. It used to have blue grips with a shorter foregrip. Now it looks like so:

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the report. Nice looking rod. It makes it more sentimental since your dad gave it to you. Hope it becomes your luckiest rod.
I was going to go this morning, but the glider ports readings were a bit discouraging. I'm glad someone was out and enjoyed Christmas Eve...
