Sitting on polyethylene all day causes erectile dysfunction. Think of the children...

surf/swim zones
so why can we have surf/swim areas, but not successfully have kayak/swim borders? This is just stupid, but this state never ceases to amaze me...

Not to mention the fist sized fecal coliform bacteria floating around the bays.

There's nothing to worry about. Some of my peers in the news biz mis-reported the story. They also blew it out of proportion, but that's another issue altogether. The Lifeguard Lt in charge of the Shores confirmed as much.
So here's the deal. The launch is fine, although it is true the rental places will likely end up paying more for less access. Fair warning - don't stray into the designated swim zone south of the launch. You may be cited as an example to other miscreants. That's my take, not the Lt's. So you know, the swim zone extends down to Roseland Drive. The lifeguards will post a new sign at the public beach access next to the Marine Room spelling out the kayak prohibition. And that's it. Nothing to see here - go back to your regularly scheduled fish-catching. Paul |
