Wed. morning

Well launched early and quickly made it to the grounds. Put a dropper loop squid down and fish the edge of the armada, quickly pulled up a fat checker who was released to fight another day, then came 'cudafest 2008, after pulling up more than a few log cudas. I threw on a fresh bait back down to the bottom and within a few minutes was on a strange fight, lots of shaking and rushing down, finally get the fish up and find a nice sized Lingcod, in orange, red and brown colors??? Very cool and pretty fish that got quickly game clipped!

Sent another fresh bait to the bottom and continued to throw iron for the larges mackerel you have ever seen, and more cudas. About an hour later the clicker starts singing!!! Hells yeah! Head shakes, deep runs, and lots of power for what wound up being a smaller yellow, it's been awhile so he and the lingcod became friends on the game clip!!

Ran into Josh who quickly handed me some fresh lively squirts! Threw oned down on the carolina rig and got a HUGE ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ stuck it in gear and the long 45 minute sleigh ride began, had me hoping at the beginning and had me begging for the damn beast to come up, took me from 65 feet to 300 feet plus. Finally get the beast close and called in for some back up from Dan W. who very selflessly paddled along with me and helped me get the largest BSB I have ever caught back down to swim happily away! Great fight and one hell of a magnificent beast! Hard to believe they used to land those things, it was around 5' long and wide as a semi! Great day on the water!

Hope everyone has some fun!

right on Matt! Good to take the edged off before the big day. Now back to pre-wedding mayhem!

Matt,

Good seeing you on the water again today, and glad to have yet another reason for you to pull out the kodak.

Re. your wedding: Sorry for the argument on the beach this AM, but I still think a gold-plated ringed circle hook is a poor substitue for the traditional wedding band (She must be some gal!).

Have fun!

Avery

Well Matt, you told me of the fish you caught yesterday but neglected to tell me of your biggest catch of all, a wife. A hearty congratulations there too and I hope to see your smiling face as much after the nuptials as before.
