Passing of Keith Martin - aka CucamongaKeith

It is with a saddened heart that I post this message that Mr. Keith Martin, aka Cucamonga Keith has passed away.

Many of you old timers will remember him from the early 2000's, 20-25 years ago when the sport was just gaining traction. He was definitely one of the Originals, and was a regular that participated in the many tournaments and organized trips up and down the coast and baja during those years. He was a pioneer in producing how-to videos for making bait tanks and the first to be seen using a kite to propel his kayak while fishing. He would also publish a Calendar for all of us so we could stay organized with our tournaments and events.

Keith was an accomplished kayak fisherman and an extremely good friend to many from this community, especially me. He loved this sport and leaves this community and world a better place because of his life.

RIP Keith

Sorry to see another pioneer kayak fisherman go, RIP Keith.

BTW, the background kayaker in photo #3 is Ray Sharp, aka "Sit-Inside-Ray", a great friend who passed 8/15. Seems like only a few months ago...

Thanks Grego for sharing and Don for putting it over on Baytubers FB where I saw. Keith was an awesome dude and made a huge inpact on this sport back when it was so fresh.

Thanks Keith for some great memories and helping pave the way for Kayak fishing to become something I have been able to spend my entire adult life doing for a living. You will be missed
