What constitutes a Shark Attack?

Does a shark have to bite the kayak? or would a hard bump/splash meet the criteria?

Kayakers on another forum were commenting that there is no good means of reporting such an incident, and many of the incidents reported over the years on the forum are not listed in the chart above. I see the Vandenberg incident that is covered on this forum, but are there other incidents that this chart misses?

I would say with a scent trail.....

And a hammerhead circling you, after a couple of karate chops to the head, with your paddle. Two different times."You are under attack".
And wouldn't end till you got off the water, even though there was no bite yet.

I saw a vid/article where some kayakers said they were attacked by a GW, but the vid only showed the shark swimming around the kayak, no contact.

Personally I wouldn't classify that as an attack, more like an investigation.

Here's a good video backing up that statement.

I wish he would have said, if he was leaving a scent trail or not. I had 3yt's cross hatched on a Malibu double when I was attacked. The hatches were to small to put fish inside.since then I stopped using that kayak and got a cobra fish and dive for the big hatch and haul capacity.
