Thanks for posting.
I have taken casting lesson at that club in the past. If it was not for previous commitment, I would have loved to attend. On a separate note, Jim, were you in Avalon on Tuesday, Nov 22nd? You were walking toward the town, while I was coming back from the store toward Mole. I hollered, but you were busy talking to someone and kind of far. |

John will talk about shooting line, the Single and Double Haul, the correct timing of the cast and how to teach oneself how to perform it. 10:30 a.m. Casting Problems and Their Solutions - Michael Maloney If you’ve ever encountered a problem with your casting, whether it’s with a 1 weight fly rod fishing for small golden trout or a 15 weight fly rod chasing small marlin, Michael can help you with your casting. Whether you’re using a small floating line or a 750 grain sinking line let Michael help you. If you’re having trouble casting in the wind, Michael will simplify it for you. The best thing about Michael is that he not only helps you with your problems, but teaches you how to recognize them and help remedy them when you’re by yourself. Michael has been fly fishing for over 65 years and teaching actively for over 50 years. Flip Pallot called him “a true teacher of teachers”. Don’t miss this opportunity to spend some time with Mr. Common Sense. 11:30 a.m. Understanding the Shooting Head - Bob Middo Master Certified Casting Instructor for both single and two hand rods, Bob Middo will discuss and demonstrate how to cast a shooting head for surf and boat angling. Fly Info...
This was a pretty cool event...
If you were ever interested in fly tying or casting this was the place to be with some of the top guides and the great panels and seminars they had. I especially liked the surf fishing panel seminar...lots of great info that could be used for other types of surf fishing besides fly casting. The guys tying the flies had some incredible talent... The inflatables and the Lynx had the most interest of the Hobie Kayaks for the Fly guys... They had casting lessons from the experts in the big casting pond at the LB club for $1 a minute with a money back guarantee if you didn't get it and learn the particular moves you were interested in... All the cash went to supporting their youth programs...
