Alien egg sacks ?
What the heck are these alien looking egg sacks...?
These 4 tubes with a sort of egg like sphere in each one were floating about as I was Rockfishing yesterday...can anyone identify them ? They were about a foot long and almost seemed to be kind of swimming along...

Second that opinion. Google Salp images, I couldn't get it to paste into this reply.
Usually they are more than two, they can form long chains and vary in size from grapes to the size of you palm. |

I've been seeing salps, moon jellyfish and purple-striped jellyfish recently at La Jolla.
Hopefully a sign of a flourishing ecosystem! |
