Central Coast Trip
Me and buddy are planning a trip to Cambria and Morro bay, hopefully in 2-3 weeks. Going for lingcod and rockfish. Any tips on watching the weather forecast. I’m not familiar with the central coast so I want to be extra cautious. I’m also going to practice a few beach launches and landings before I head out there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated especially camping locations and launches

I haven't actually fished up that way, but I've camped at Montana de Oro on the way to camp Oregon it was a great little camp site by the beach. As for fishing it, I've seen videos of guys launching and fishing there from the beach and it looks like a pretty nice spot if the conditions are right. Hopefully someone here has fished it and has some more insight for you.

My only advise is if you can visit the Santa Cruz pier,
Be sure try this restaurant: https://www.stagnarobrothers.com/ Their Cioppino ($26.00) is out of this world. They even sell the sauce to go. Bon Appetite |
