LJ looks Red, White & Yellow - 7/31/20
Upon launch, I braved the surprisingly larger than normal La Jolla surf (white) plus some cooler temperatures. Yellowtail on flyline greenback and rockfish on iron that I let sink to bottom upon being distracted by conversation. Good swell passing through from outside...surf report misleading....made it from launch to landing with the Hobie Outback staying upright the whole time.

Nice job! This water is crazy for the middle of Summer. I had 56 degrees and not a single bit up in Oceanside today.
Can't wait for Winter to arrive so we can have some warm water again |

...MMMMM
WOW...this was one of the better tasting yellowtails. Cooked a bit of the filet with sweet chili sauce and sliced jalapenos. I cant wait for the ribs and collar ponzu. Perhaps the colder water is a good thing?

Younger fish just have the more buttery flavor. Like veal.
