live well pump
Soooo, last time out I found that my live well was not filling up with water. Thought it was the battery, bought a new one, still not filling up. Must be the pump. Not quite sure how to trouble shoot or what to look for besides eel grass/debris clogging it up which is not the case.
Any advice? |

Is it rotating the right direction? Perhaps the polarity of the battery is backwards

Hobie livewell switches are prone to failure over time. I'd disconnect battery and cut out the switch and see if it works then, Switches run $15

A multimeter is a great tool to have and you can grab one for cheap at harbor freight, especially with their coupon.
With the multimeter you can check the motor and battery to see if they are good. Is it a hobie? If so, check the switch. Do you have an inline fuse? If so, check the fuse. There are only a few things that can fail, so just go through each item and then check signal flow and you'll find it. Lots of resources online to help you with how to use a multimeter correctly. |
