NPH On the New Ride 5/12/19

When the cover on my Creek Company ODC 420 float tube split and I could not get a response or a replacement from a company which did have excellent telephone support, a friend lent me a Caddis but on my way home I bought a Hobie Compass yak for fly fishing with as little as possible to stick out for the fly line to catch on and this baby is it.
Took it out to Newport harbor yesterday for the maiden voyage and even tho the fishing was sloooooowwww, and ot was a bit lumpy at the harbor entrance, I think I'm gping to like this. Fishing the docks and the pontoons will take a bit of practice when a good tide is running even with the reverse drive and taking pics is more challenging than in the tube but a few Calicos said hello at the bait barge and some Spotties joined in at the CGS.
Recovery day(s) for the gluts which are a bit sore today from 8 hours leg action

New wheels

Happy Mothers Day from the NPH Calicos

And Spotties

Hey Corvina I met you late morning and we discussed how to adjust your drive pedals. Glad to see you had some action on the fly!
We ended up with 5 Spots. 4 were on trolled crank baits. 1 on a 3.5 plastic hammer bait. First time in a while that I have actually caught something around the docks. Seems like back in the 90s I would catch more and substantially larger spots. We planned to go outside the break and fish for rock cod but it was just to rough so ended up salvaging the day. Thanks.

That is one sick boat. Did you upgrade to a rectangular hatch?

Yes I had the rectangular hatch fitted and left the bow hatch location intact. Plenty storage space for fly fishing on the compass
