Repeat On SD Bay?
Was hoping to repeat the magic on the SD Bay like last Saturday. Went to my spot at the lower range marker and caught a spottie. Pedaled out to the Jetty leaving Fishinmike around the ammo pier. Within minutes of getting to last weeks spot off the Jetty my pedal drive chain snapped. Thought it’s only 7:30 I will ride the tide in. Problem was I was taken out farther. Won’t need to work upper body weights.
Definitely not a repeat. Fishinmike - 1 Sandie Bubbacee - 1 spottie My eldest and I will be taking in a UCLA softball game next weekend so have 2 weeks to make repairs. Fish well my friends |

The tiny clevis pin on one of my fins fell out and sank once. It rendered my Mirage Drive useless. Trying to paddle back against wind and tide that day sounds similar to your experience. There were white caps and it was a mo'fo.
I've tried to make a list of essential replacement parts and tools to stash away somewhere on my Hobie Outback. Many items are very small, but critical if we need them. I stash them in multiple places, including vacuum sealed in plastic and stuck with GOOP inside my hull in a place that's easy to reach. First hand experience over time is a good teacher. All experience is good experience. Buddy system is the best.

Nice Guy - I agree a 100%. My. Brother and I fish together. I keep extras of things and now I will keep and extra mirage train. Will replace both on it now and keep the one that did not break as an emergency back up.
