Leo Carrillo 9/23
This weekend looks good for a Leo launch. My son has basketball on Saturday so I plan on heading out on Sunday morning. I have not launched from Leo in a long time. If the waves stay low I am a go.

I'll probably launch around 7. I launch below the life guard tower. I like to land there as that big rock blocks the waves but there are usually a bunch of kids there when I come back so I land by that large staircase and walk back along the beach. Wheeleez save my ass there.

If I don't head all the way down to Redondo, I'll meet you guys at Leo. I usually launch at the stairs.

Good to meet you guys at Leo on Sunday!
I stayed out until about 2pm, caught a decent but not huge number of calico and sand bass. Saw a couple instances of larger fish crashing on bait w/in the kelp. Saw the splashes of something large enough to initially make me think it was a seal or sea lion just 10 feet or so from me. I never saw anything surface so maybe a large WSB? Who knows. The wind picked up mid morning and the water got uncomfortably choppy so I decided to head back in. But before I landed the wind stopped and the sun came out, so I stayed another couple hours. I really love it out there, gotta find more time! Andy |
