Anyone planning any baja trips

Tried a post like this before and got flamed but the baja know it alls on here. Im new to fishing baja but frequent baja on my motorcycle. Looking to get down there this year and fish. Im interested in fishing bahai de concepcion or los angeles or the general san felipe area. Anyone planning any trips that wouldnt mind me and a buddy tagging alot. We could take our own truck and gear but would like someone to show us the ropes.

If you dont like the post please move on. Thanks.

I plan on going down towards Gonzaga in April date unknown as of now and then the 3rd week in May will be doing an exploratory for corvina working the beaches from north of San Felipe to Gonzaga Bay. Anyone welcome on both trips. Are you sure you got flamed here?

Just a reminder that things are increasingly out of control down there and tourists with nice things are easy targets of opportunity.

That is we go in caravan and San Felipe has been mostly theft. Bigger towns are mostly drug related.

Statistics

I would bet that crime and murders really haven't necessarily increased but they look like when you count numbers. Increase in population is contributing to the higher numbers. I also think more people are actually counting now that the police and federal military are being watched more.

Either way, so close to home and a place I frequented as a child it is sad. I think there should be major United States intervention. Would love nothing more than to drive down as much as I want with the wife and kids to fish and camp safely.

More likely to get shot at a concert in Vegas or a club in Florida. Media scare tactics at its finest. While some of the above links might be factual, have you ever researched some of the murder rates in our worst cities here in the US? You would probably be terrified of Detroit, Chicago and maybe even stay out of a few cities in Kansas.

Gentlemen

Thank you all for the reply and kind words. Not sure why this post didn't work last time. I would love to caravan with anyone anytime. I can go may or April.

Makobob how big are the corvina? I'd really love to get onto some yellowtail or dorado as I have yet to catch them from my kayak

We have taken corvina over 10 pounds, the yellows this time of year are all rats and as to dorado we seldom sea them in Gonzaga. But we have had some GREAT roosterfishing the last few years in Sept/ Oct. Like 50-70 pounders. Always bass, trigger fish and cabrilla around. Tight Lines amigo.
