Perris Gills 11/7/17

Fished with Orca today at good ol' Perris. It's becoming an annual trip for us these days since an amazing day on a lake doesn't ever seem to even come close to a decent day on the ocean. Anyways, we caught: Bluegills and loads of small bass. The end...

I was wondering if you have any tips about kayak fishing there? I volunteer at a vet hospital in lake Elsinore and I have been contimplating taking my kayak down there and either fishing Perris or lake Elsinore

Both of us have only kayaked Perris about 3-4 times so, I don’t have anything super helpful. Today’s catch was on 1” curlytails in motoroil and 1/32 jigheads and crawlers.

We launched at the boat ramps but a ranger told me that a lot of yakers are driving their yaks down to sail cove and launching from the beach. She said that parking is allowed there.

This time of year is nice because the drunk boating/jet skiing crowd is in winter hibernation. When they are out in the summer, it can get really sketchy.

My last tip is to watch the winds. They can really kick up in the afternoon and make the paddle/pedal back a challenge.
