Humpback Whale Ho - LJ 4/6
Very slow bottom fishing, best around 100'. Sportboats were rockfishing
out deep, two miles away, outside and upcurrent. Breezy morning turned to nice afternoon. Fished bass gear and plastics, and the one big mack I caught and nosehooked on a B52 got hammered quickly and burned off 20 yards but I missed the hookset .... duh  Got a nice lingcod, a treefish, and some other asst'd rockfish. Shot pictures and video of a wildly breaching baby whale, and the mom breached and fluked a couple times and looked huge. Followed for a mile, while the baby whale jumped at least 20 times. Here is the Leaping Humpback video - http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...ayak040608.flv Since it was shot with my older digital camera the quality is marginal. And my whale videoing skills need some practice ... 27" LINGCOD on the bass gear

I thought that was you next to us as we followed those whales. We were in the Parker. Quite a show.

Nice pics and vid. I don't know if it's the way the camera streams the video or what, but it looks like you were booking it. Are the revo's that fast???

Great pics
What an awesome opportunity, it tends to remind you how small you are when they are breaching nearby, thanks for sharing.
