Tamarack Beach Launch

Been doing lots of exploring... this beach was an easy launch yesterday. Probably be doing more from here. Parking is free and was even greeted with a beer from a beachgoer that just wanted to check out the setup. Wondering if anyone has had any luck in this area and what to target. Sorry if i'm blowing up with posts, just having fun learning areas.

There are kelp beds just south of the desalination plant.

Must have been too windy or too much current to see. I couldn't find them yesterday. I went there last year in my X Factor and spent the rest of the day paddling against the current trying to get back to Tamarack... Hobie pedals are amazing... what current? haha.

It's a hit and miss out there. You are directly outside the kelp line in that photo. It's pretty thick out there but sometimes hard to see depending on the tide.

This is me a few weeks ago from there.

And this was last week.

Nice! That spot is close to the house. Oceanside harbor parking is 15 bucks unless you find a metered spot for 4 hours or less. Now that the kids are back in school parking isn't so bad. Ill be back for sure.

If you park on the other side of the harbor near the Harbor police station there is a dock where you can park for free and launch your yak off the dock. It's where all of the seals have been hanging out.

Just don't park in my spot when I am going out there.

That's my truck under the O
