8/19 dana point
Been a while since heading out on a saturday. Started around 5 am to find a line of boats looking to bait up at the barge. No bait for me. Bolted north to the headlands against a strong down hill current.
Loaded the tank with a mix of Spanish and greens and made my way out west towards the deep blue. Plan all along was to head north headlands, out west to the deep canyon and then horseshoe south to barber poles. Highlight of the trip 3 schooling sunfish. I've Seen them before alone, but not in a school. Also realized how fast this big awkward fish can bolt. As I rolled up all of them scadadelled fast disappearing in the deep waters. |
