Team North County Crew at it again
Another North County home guard. On the water at 6:00 and off at 10:00, Perfect conditions upon arriving at the location. Flat calm waters, 73 degrees and bait balls in every direction. Threw a flat fall at the balls for no luck. Towed a mac around for a couple of hours and at 9:00 she was on.
30 lbs - 42" to fork.

BINGO...
WTG Curtis! The water looked amazing. The surf didn't look to bad, at least in the pics. Way to represent!

Awesome fish and video!
As a relative newbie to catching/losing Yellowtail or other fish of this size, what am I supposed to do when the head shake/jerking happens? Should I be pulling harder or easing off and letting it run? I lost a fish at the weekend, snapped off my 65lb braid ( and I was using 40lb fluoro leader) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Be patient, don't over stress your gear or yourself. Let this fish play a little and then put it to him when he gives you the opportunity. Patience is the key on the kayak. You are not fighting elbow to elbow with other anglers so no need to horse them in. Give it time and enjoy the ride.
