Slow day on water

Did not see or hear of any fish caught. 20 anglers between yaks and pb's. Hooked up around 09:00 while trying to make a phone call . Almost cluster humped it with dual lines out . Once I got my second line in , it was all business. Tight on line and keep turning the handle. Once straight on top of fish he was doomed. Solid Hook set in corner of mouth and new spool of braid had no issues popping through 30 ft of kelp. My flouro top shot looked like Madonnas hair when I was done. Gaff shot in belly, whoops slipped outta hand. Reached down and grab him by gills for securement. I really need to work on gaff shots . At least this time I nailed him in belly for no fish lost. Calm most of Morning until winds kicked up in the afternoon. I came across a wolf pack in the afternoon swimming straight at me while paddling. When I saw pack just under surface I stopped paddling and they swam right by, not realizing I was there. In and out of visibility within seconds. A few minutes later a solo cruiser that got spooked. No major activity on surface from yellows. I did meter a few bait schools with a mark pushing them up from bottom. Temperature drop put these fish on lock down. Everybody stay home .. tight lines. Thus graciuos gentlemen took time out for me to take these awesome on the water pics . Thank you. Nothing beats on the water fish porn. Happy 4th everyone.

Congrats on landing one. Even when it seems slow there are alway a few caught out there. Can't catch one, if you're not on the water.
