Do you need a net??
I read in the regulations booklet that vessels must carry a landing net. Does this apply to kayaks as well?

Kayaks
Why would it be different for kayaks...?
Yes...the regulations say that you are supposed to carry a net with an 18" opening when fishing in saltwater in order to help in the release of undersize fish...Many anglers just carry one of the Promar folding nets to be in compliance.

Seems the warden/s were not aware of the regulation.
A lot of time the application of the law is to the discretion of the wardens. |

I believe if you have any fish with a minimum size limit you have to have as net. Mike

When I used to live in NorCal, this was often enforced, especially when salmon fishing. Most guys would have the net out in a rod holder. I've been asked once in the big bay. I'll usually bring a complying folding net and store down below.

I carry a folding promar net just to be legal and it's stored along side the bait tank or anywhere in the back of the kayak. I can't remember ever using it.
