That was a good article by guys that consistantly catch big halis.
I'll toss in a few extras.
Keep your bait right on the bottom with your line as vertical as possible. If you're in a 100' of water with a decent drift and a big Mac you might need 8-12 oz.

Lots of guys like trap hooks but i prefer a single light wire circle hook in the baits nose. I've found using the trailing treble catches more short halis, sand bass, bottom sharks, and lizard fish. Maybe try it each way. Mike
