Gaff Protection

I just saw a picture of a gaff with a cork tethered to it.

I have always been curious what everyone uses to cover the hook points on their gaffs.

So what do you all use?

I use a short piece of plastic tubing. It's easy to pull off the hook end and easy to slip in back on. It doesn't fall off and protects you from accidentally getting stuck.

Rubber tube. I also made a Gaff out of Bamboo. It looks like the other guys. But constructed differently.

Cork or...

I used cork on the old fashioned one I made to keep with the theme, but the icemaker supply line also works well. I like to use something that is laying around waiting to be used or thrown away.
